Part I of the book gives archives of some of the works of Dr.V.D.Vartak & Prof. Madhav Gadgil etal. Prof. Vartak had keenly noted the exclusive dependence of tribal/local folks on surrounding plants and animals. He was since 1968 in search and exploration of newer plants and unfolding mysteries, that helped survive many tribal through past centuries. He was awarded a 'HARSHBERGER MEDAL FOR ETHNOBOTANY'. His contribution to the Ethnobotanical research will be a continuous SOURCE of information for further development of Knowledge-based industry that is coming of Age.
