Sacred Groves

In hilly areas of Western Ghats, green patches of vegetation attract the viewer's attention.These are 'preserved forest patches devoted to gods and maintained for generations in unmolested virgin state'. These are called Sacred Groves.

Archeological repository

Age and origin of Sacred Grove are unpredictable.Excellent intact archeological specimens and inscriptions are foundin the sacred groves.This suggests their prehistoric existence corresponding with the nomadic life of human beings too.
